Why not believe in God? If you dont you either go to hell or just die and not exist depending on which is real, but if you do believe you can go to heaven if it exists. It's sad that hell has to be there, but we sinned, and that's why it's there. He is EXTREMELY compassionate, but you have to have discipline, or else there is total anarchy, and you don't want to reward for being evil. That's why we have to reach out to help and bring people to the truth so they don't go to hell. God actively calls on us to do that. It does say in the Bible that God is a jealous god, but it's righteous jealousy, I mean seriously, put it into perspective. Let's say you are the only god, creator of the universe, and you give people plenty of proof you're there, and you're perfect, and they wander off ignorantly to false gods and atheism. What do you do? He is perfect, nothing close to an a-hole. He sent His only SON to come down and die a tortuous, long, painful death, to save us from our sins, not only that, but Jesus was WILLING to do so, that's how much he loves us.
