You seem to harbour an intense hatred towards religion. Why?

I've got personal connections to people who "found faith" in religion and turned completely insane. I was at one point friends with a moderate Christian who was borderline agnostic who found Mormonism and for some reason he seemingly naturally clung to it. Since then the guy who I used to call a good friend of mine refuses to eat chocolate because it contains a small amount of caffeine in it and refuses to listen to any of the bands that he used to be a diehard fan if because they were "too sinful". And there are other less severe examples in my life but you probably get the gist by now. I haven't just seen how bad it can be, it's affected people I cared about.

Don't give him too much credit or undermine my intense hatred of theistic religion.

Okay, but first there's just this thing I need to understand: People like you (and I use that term loosely) are constantly saying that religion should only be practiced in private and that any mention of anything remotely related to religion in public is "forcing your religion down our throats" but at the same time, parading your sex life up and down public streets is fine? And besides, there's no harm in praying or quoting a religious text in public. As long as you do it in such a way that you aren't ACTUALLY forcing your beliefs onto others it's fine.

It's the fact that they DO try to shove it down everyone's throats. Even if it's the minority of them that actually do, that ruin it for the innocent moderates. The fact that there are so many overall means that the numbers of the minority of them are large enough to cause a change for the worse for the rest of us. THEY are the ones responsible for mass indoctrination of children in schools. THEY are the reason why LGBT+ rights are so slow in their progress. THEY are responsible for churches being allowed to evade taxes. If that minority didn't have so much influence, I wouldn't have so much against the entirety of them.

That argument could easily be reversed. By using the same logic, atheists and agnostics should also be keeping their beliefs to themselves. But they don't. And they have the nerve to chastsise theists for the exact same thing that they are guilty of. Besides, these library crybabies that go apesh*t at any mention of religion in public don't even know when people are ACTUALLY forcing their beliefs onto others. A Muslim terrorist can run into a crowd of people and start shooting at them while screaming "Allahu Akbar" and Liberals will still defend the religion, but if a Christian mentions God in public it's "shoving your religion down our throats!". And while I do agree that indoctrination of children without the child's consent is wrong, I still believe that religion should be taught in schools from a cultural historical viewpoint, by which I mean it should be taught because of its importance in history and its cultural significance. And while we're on the subject of whether or not people should keep their religion private, I'd like to point out something I think we can both agree on: People should keep their sex lives to themselves. Right? But take a look at what happens every June. A bunch of half-naked people f***ing each other in public and then acting surprised if anyone asks them to stop.

Sexuality is demonized because of religion. Not really a great example. And there's nothing wrong with people like atheists and agnostics trying to force science down people's throats because it's logical information unlike religion. Not to say that I'm promoting public orgies because there's no guarantee that everyone involved would be hot. But people still make too big a deal about it. Plus, once again, it's the fault of religion that gay pride parades happen. LGBT+ community are oppressed by religious people therefore their response is to go wild and crazy with their way of life and flaunt it every June. If gays were never oppressed, the pride parade wouldn't have ever been created. Basically, the religious people brought it on themselves and on the rest of us as well.

You're still ignoring something important: As I mentioned previously, most Liberals can't even tell when theists are actually forcing their beliefs onto others. For example, if a Muslim commits a hate crime against gays, Liberals don't care, but if a Christian politely disagrees with same-sex relationships, Liberals will bash the entire religion. But that's irrelevant. The point still remains: there is nothing wrong with people practicing their religion in front of others. I'm an atheist, but I have no problem with people praying or quoting their religious text in public. As long as they don't force it onto others, it's completely fine.
