Allthough there really is no comparion (no sane person would choose to prevent 9/11 instead of The Holocaust, if given the choice), it's not as simple as it seems. The realities of history are more complex. The total toll of 9/11 goes beyond the victims of the terrorist attacks themselves. Without 9/11, it is highly doubtfull that the US government would have found it necessary to go to war in Iraq and Afghanistan. The estimates of the death toll vary wildly but for Iraq they range anywhere from 100.000 to more than a million people (98% of them civilians) that died as a direct result of military action, terrorist attacks and the collapse of the Iraqi society. This number rises everyday with no end in sight. In Afghanistan at least 30.000 civilians and more than 3000 foreign troops have died because of military action and terrorist attacks, and untold numbers have succumbed to hunger and disease. Furthermore, the atrocities of Nazi Germany ultimately led to the establishment of the U.N. and the European Union, ensuring no major war has been fought in Western Europe for over 65 years, which is quite a feat for a continent where for the past 1000 years, the large countries have more or less always been embroiled in some kind of war. On the other hand, the attempts of Western governments to counter terrorism after 9/11 have mostly led to the creation of surveillance states on an unprecedented scale and the curtailing of basic human rights for it's own citizens.

My god, people actually voted 9/11? I would assume it's the more recent generation. They know nothing of the terrors that went on during the Holocaust, yet have heard/scene clips of 9/11 and immediately assume it's the worst.

If you 29% OF IDIOTS LEARNED MORE ABOUT THE HOLOCAUST! Extra people died besides jews. A total of about 11 million people died... 9/11 may be very scary, but hiding somewhere for practically the rest of your life praying every night that those Nazis dont find you, running from place to place every night, crying buckets, and soon enough theyll find you and trap you in a room while a poisonous gas fills up the room and takes over their lungs killing them within seconds. 9/11? only 3000 people died you cant hide! you never knew it was coming, you can cry if youre alive, but you cant be captured while being put in a toture chamber

So many more people died in the Holocaust, about 6 MILLION jews were murdered to the 3,000 (or more) people that were killed on 9-11, as horrific as both events were, I'd have to say The Holocaust was the one I would stop.

I say 9-11 because it impacted the paranoia level of the united states, and making people with a lot of nukes and a lot of paranoia and little brains is NEVER the right choice, even compared to approximately 6 million jews. By comparison, 100 civilians are killed a day in the "war on terror", religious discrimination runs rampant and is once again considered "ok" and innocent people are people treated as criminals

To be honest, to agree with trying not to damage the fabric of time you'd stop neither. Stopping either would change the world as we know it today. Sure you can think of it as saving millions or thousands of lives, but in the end it will result in changing the lives of millions more either for the positive or the negative, you never know. Added the human factor you'd stop the Holocaust, for the fact that more people died, both if you could. Added a factor of Time as being itself you'd let them both happen as horrible as that is, you don't want to disturb the present.

I say 9/11 only because thanks to the holocaust, Jews have an entire powerful country to call home, known as Isreal

Alot of you are calling people out for voting for 9/11. I voted for 9/11 because I have 3 family members who were killed on 9/11 so this was extremely personal for me. The Holocaust was horrible too but it has no impact on me what so ever.

You do know only 3,000 people died in 9-11 right? Plus, no (Bush False Flag) 9-11, no pointless war, no screwed up country, no Obama. Also, it's the freakin HOLOCAUST!

Neither event was worse than the other, both were terrible and should not have happened, but simply I would save 6 mil+ lives than about 4,000.

As much as i hate to say it, there is no way i would risk changing the future that much, that was one of the biggest events in modern history. So i guess of i stoped 9-11 than it would have less of an effect on history.
