Game breaking glitches ruined 'A' for me. I have never encountered any in 'B'. 5 years ago
Strictly speaking, "In God we trust" shouldn't be on U.S. currency; but a proactive effort to change it isn't worth the time and effort. Halting the production of pennies, however, would be quite beneficial. 5 years ago +2
Naruto isn't my type of anime, but 'B' is going a bit too far. 5 years ago +3

Asian families don't say "I love you" to family members. My family experienced a major culture shock when we saw the level of affection Americans show to each other. 5 years ago +1

There are a ton of loop holes for both choices, but I'm just going to go with killing five small children. If I drive fast enough there's a chance that I won't get caught. 5 years ago
Based on the conventional definition of intellect, people don't become more intelligent with knowledge; but smarter or less ignorant. Intelligence is static (except in terms of losing intellect), but ignorance is not. 5 years ago +1

Sex should be when two individuals are mature enough and ready. I think it's pointless to have sex at some arbitrary line of marriage. 5 years ago +3
I feel that our world's view of intellectualism changes with age. Our youth seems to promote a glorification of stupidity, where aged individuals favor higher intellect. An individual in his 30's working at a McDonalds would be viewed negatively, but a person in the same age range in a science/computer/teaching (or general job that requires good education) job would be viewed positively. 5 years ago +1
'A' would be terrible. You wouldn't be able to educate yourself properly or know he pleasures of a peaceful life. It would be better to be a survivor going into a post-apocalyptic setting rather than to be born into one. 5 years ago
Dungeons and Dragons, Arkham Horror, Mansions of Madness, Thunderstone, Ticket to Ride, Settler of Catan, Go, Chess, Fluxx etc. There are so many games that are easier to play and better without apps. 5 years ago +1

How do you smack the "principle". It makes sense to smack a "principal", but 'B' just doesn't make sense. 5 years ago +3

I usually let the illness run its course without doing anything. I don't use medicine unless the illness is serious, but that never happened. 5 years ago

Asymmetry, messy things, bad grammar, irregular length shoelaces, uneven surfaces, when a bag is opened on the wrong end, trash, non-routine habits, checking things multiple times to make sure I actually did it, are some of my OCD's. 5 years ago +4
After high school, people go to College, move out of state, start working, etc. It's hard to contact friends when all of this happens. 'B' is not difficult compared to 'A'. 5 years ago
I do most of 'B' except I never answer a question with "neither". 5 years ago
This question has been asked a ton, but I like how it correctly words it by differentiating human language and non-human animals. 5 years ago +6

In the court of law, the prosecution has the burden of proof to prove that the defendant is guilty of crime. The same logic applies to any other assertion. Scientists have the burden of proof to show the evidence for any theory, and any other person has the burden of proof to prove anything else that is asserted. 5 years ago +2
I would have to exterminate the human race if I hunted down my favorite animal. 5 years ago +1
It would be very unrealistic for a superior alien race to scout sentient life using actual life forms. Logically, they would send out billions of microscopic probes throughout the universe to land on planets' moons. Each individual probe would build a factory on these moons and create more probes, each being sent off to other areas. Data regarding the ability of the human race could only be identified by a group of specialists or by the probes themselves. 5 years ago +1
It depends on the severity of the outbreak. If zombies outnumber humans, zombies are definitely the ones who "gets you". 5 years ago +3

Technically speaking, he is probably an agnostic atheist; but Tyson is a man who doesn't want to touch the sensitive topic of religion. As an educator, he speaks negatively about topics like teaching creationism in school because it isn't scientific. 5 years ago
Strictly speaking. no. However, matter can appear to come from nothing in the realm of quantum mechanics. 5 years ago +1
What bothers me most about this question is that Neil Degrasse Tyson is a self proclaimed agnostic, not atheist. Like many others, including myself, he dislikes labels like "atheist" to define a person. 5 years ago

Wrong one. You can answer everything; whether it is correct is another question. 5 years ago +3
Well.. refraction of certain areas of the electromagnetic spectrum make water appear blue, but that would be a blue color formed by reflection. If that counts as blue, then pointing a blue light onto an object would allow you to turn that object into a plant. I'm not entirely sure whether the question refers to the appearance of blue or an object intrinsically being blue. 5 years ago +1

Unfortunately nothing comes to mind, but I haven't really watched any horror movies in a very long time. 5 years ago
My thoughts are already very cluttered and unorganized. I often find myself rambling about random stuff unrelated to a topic or fail at conveying what I was originally trying to explain. Despite this failure at language, 'A' sounds horrible. 5 years ago

"who "Carl is" is incorrect because it ends with a linking verb. Anyways, the question asks, "Should a 12 year old boy be able to use a shotgun..." I think 12-year-old kids should know how to use a gun so that they can protect themselves. Whether the 12-year-old can cope with killing a person depends on the individual, but psychological damage is better than physical damage in my opinion. 5 years ago +1
I have never watched the Walking Dead, and I have no clue who is "Carl". 5 years ago

We know that the "big bang" happened (based on evidence from the aftermath of the big bang i.e. cosmic background radiation), but we are ignorant as to why it happened. It would be a sad day if our species were to explain everything. Part of the fun in science is to explore realms of physics, mathematics, chemistry, etc to find new things. Also, there is too much in the Universe for everything to be explained. We only understand Gravity fundamentally by its affect on objects, and we don't even understand quantum mechanics. 5 years ago +2

It is important to learn about everything. There is practicality in planetary origins so that we may terraform planets to sustain life. We may recognize volcanoes or other landmarks on planets as indications of whether the area is habitable. Inventions have come out through observing the Universe and planetary origins. 5 years ago
Or... a single blood vessel coming out of the heart. But, this question is too vague on what "thing" refers to. 5 years ago
I chose yes, because I am optimistic about human capability in science. Also, scientists generally care more about how something happens instead of where it comes from or why it happens. 5 years ago +1
Scientists don't know (and never claimed to know) what caused the big bang but one interesting idea is that we live in a single "bubble" of the universe and it collided with another "bubble" (parallel universe). Supposedly this would cause a massive expansion, and form a newuniverse. There are other hypothesis for the cause of the big bang, but I won't really understand them until I major in theoretical physics in college. 5 years ago +2

Destroy the brain and you're dead. Destroy the mind, and you're just crazy. 5 years ago +8
You are right about the stupidity of individuals who hinge on the word, but I think it's even worse if there is no debate in the first place. People won't debate in the first place if they don't think the other person will be rational based on them being "theist" or "atheist". 5 years ago +1
There's an inherent assumption by others when a label like "atheist" or "theist" is applied to a person. Even if a person looks past that, there's still generalizations that come to mind. It hinders logical debate. 5 years ago +1
It would be better if atheists didn't have a label that defines what they don't believe instead of what they do believe. Such as: secular humanist, naturalist, or no label at all. 5 years ago +2

Precisely. Our species (at least the most recent ancestor to be called "human") has only lasted 200 thousand years, where dinosaurs roamed the Earth for 160 million years.Death and extinction occur so often and frequently, that I couldn't fathom how an individual could feel bad about 3 insignificant deaths. 5 years ago

Bad teachers are the worst. What makes the fact even worse; teachers are not getting paid much. There's no financial incentive for people to become teachers. 5 years ago +3
Tau isn't popular enough for that to happen. Based on the results of this question, people either don't know about tau or dislike it. 5 years ago
Guns are very loud. Read the Zombie Survival Guide. 5 years ago
Tau isn't just torque in mechanical physics. It is an irrational constant that represents 2pi (circle circumference/ diameter), an elementary particle in the standard model of physics, and a Greek letter that could be a place holder, etc. 5 years ago
Tau is easier to understand. Because it is the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter, its values make more sense. Looking at a unit circle, tau represents parts of an entire circle; instead of parts of half a circle. Even though tau has so much going for it, the biggest problem is the money it would take to convert all the textbooks to incorporate tau instead of pi. 5 years ago +1

You shouldn't care about how people feel about you. In fact, questions like this give others reason to hate you. 5 years ago +3

I never said to ignore the past, just to not focus too much on it; and slavery between individuals of our species occurred hundreds of thousands of years before slavery of Africans. 5 years ago
Slavery occurred for all ethnicities. Africans enslaved other Africans, Europeans enslaved other Europeans, Africans enslaved Europeans, Africans gave up other Africans to Europeans, etc. We shouldn't be focusing so much on the past. 5 years ago +1

That only applies to real life. The question implies that sex will cause pregnancy to the female regardless of extraneous variables. 5 years ago
I would assume that both would get pregnant. 5 years ago
Good point. Based on the author's comment, I would think that homosexual men cannot get pregnant. "There is no way of stopping HER getting pregnant" implies that only the female of a relationship would get pregnant. 5 years ago

I'm pretty sure that we would not be sentient without violence. Hunting animals requires higher level thought process than just eating vegetation. We adapted opposable thumbs and a violent mindset so that we can hunt better. Because of our opposable thumbs, we are able to develop tools and create a technique called farming to generate more food. However, if we lived without diseases, viruses, or illness, I'm not sure we would exist either. 5 years ago +1

The time and money to educate ourselves past high school is worth it in that you learn more about the world, but whether you can get a job depends on your field of study. Also, you could just leave the question as it is and just remove the word "always". 5 years ago
The huge problem with 'A' is that criminals are put in a place with other criminals; therefore, they are able to learn how to commit crimes better or they could commit crime in prison. 5 years ago
