Anything by The Clash will always be better than anything by The Sex Pistols. Or any other punk band for that matter 4 years ago +1
The Antagonist doesn't need to be a person, but a story with no antagonist is a story with no conflict. A story with no conflict is not worth my time 4 years ago
Saw trailers for both. Wanted to see A before I saw the trailer. Since I never wanted to see B, I'll give it to it. 4 years ago
The Dark Knight is unbelievably overrated. So boring. And it has the tamest scheme The Joker has ever come up with. 4 years ago +1

Remakes have existed long before movies. It's not a trend, it's a part of the storytelling world. So have sequels like that. However, nobody ever said, I want to see a sequel to Paul Blart. 4 years ago
You just said would you rather watch the first great movie of 2015 or a truly awful movie. 4 years ago

Still, in terms of Made in Heaven, you really have to give some leeway to them for that one, since their singer was literally on his deathbed while singing some of those songs. Face Dances/It's Hard, and Coda on the other hand... 4 years ago
I don't know about that. Atom Heart Mother and The Final Cut take a lot away from them compared to those bands 4 years ago
The more I study, the lower my grade is. I wish they'd actually put things they tell you to study on the tests instead of that one topic that's completely ignored in class and briefly acknowledged in the textbooks. 4 years ago

Obviously. Athos is the best. But Porthos is the one who's known as the strongest. As good as he is, Athos would still be like fighting a single man. Porthos is massive and fierce. And just to make it three, Aramis would be exactly like the fight with Wesley in Princess Bride. 4 years ago
In this case, only one of the Musketeers would probably need to fight. However, that would probably end up being Porthos. The reason all four are here is for the later rounds, where they really would need all four. 4 years ago

As I said, nothing about that war made any sense. 4 years ago
In Europe the reason I say America was so vital was because Hitler couldn't devote all his efforts to the USSR. He would've been able to crush England and then give his complete attention to Russia. If he did that, he may have found a way to force them into a multi-front war. Possibly even convincing Japan to help flank them in the east, as they still were part of the Axis powers. Wasteland or not, Stalin wouldn't have sacrificed an inch of land and he would send troops and supplies away from Germany. The US allowed the Western European front to remain a threat and kept Japan in Asia. If the USSR didn't get involved, it would be much harder to take the US. BUT, I doubt either would've been able to win on their own. 4 years ago

I hate Connor. Yes, his cause is more respectable than Edwards. At first. But he's too stubborn and whiny. Again, what works on paper does not work in real life. People live their entire lives only knowing to follow. When a leader is taken away, people won't know what to do. And all of this is ignoring foreign relations and the economy. When you add those two factors, an anarcho country would either be conquered, or forced to call upon a leader to protect them. 4 years ago +1
For every one person that is known to have mental instabilities who are getting the care they need, I guarantee you that at least two more are out there and not getting it because their families hide them or deny every sign pointed out to them. Secondly, do you really think that the people who started the revolt would actually let go of the power once they've taken it? They wouldn't. Morals or not, human nature is to take, especially when it comes to power and control. And once they had the power that they were trying to get rid of, they'd hold onto it, maybe only two or three of them. And maybe at first it would work for a little while. But then what? One of the leaders of the initial revolt decides that he's going to make sure that people are "acting according to their own morals" so they create a secret police. The police then decide that they have the authority to punish people for acting differently then what they want. So they start abusing what they were given. Then another of the leaders starts to oppose the one who created the force, arguing that it stands even further against what they wanted, which they already are doing by calling themselves leaders. There's a power struggle, and the one with the police force wins. He then takes full control over the remaining leaders and begins to impose his morals on others, creating laws. Anarchy can go to totalitarian dictatorship incredibly quickly. Even more so then the USSR did, because after the success, there would be no Lenin. Only Stalin and Trotsky. 4 years ago +1
The Dark Knight was the Joker's most mild plot ever. 4 years ago +1
You have too much faith in humanity. You let the psychos kill, ex soldiers start killing them, the soldiers start fighting again, people kill the soldiers, then they start killing each other. 4 years ago +1
No. I'm not some pathetic no life who needs to have more than one account to feel liked. Whoever did that clearly just agrees with my opinion. 4 years ago +1
That isn't true. People could revolt if the wrong person gets the right attention. Says the right words to send the public off to fit their own agenda, and they would call it anarchy 4 years ago
That's not just political. That's everything. But do you really think rules would be followed if you only had yourself to rely on? Read about Western America. See how well that turned out to work. 4 years ago +1
There's a big difference between how something sounds on paper and what actually ends up happening 4 years ago +1
Nobody said in this instance that it is a police state. Just that it's the government fighting anarchists. 4 years ago +1
I prefer the current format. Four half hour episodes was never a good idea for the show. 4 years ago
Here's the thing about Jar-Jar. He was a character made to appeal to little kids. And be honest, a good amount of people that were going to watch episode 1 were little kids who kept watching the original movies on VHS who probably wouldn't have been able to sit through the movie in theaters without him. He served his purpose. In that respect, I like him. 4 years ago

Here's the thing about nintendo systems. On paper, they seem like the worst. And when they come out, they're generally a second thought. Citizens have no choice how their money is spent. The Constitution has ways that peoples voices can be heard but all of them are roadblocked by politicians who will only support what's personally best for them and nothing else. Politicians use people as toys and pawns in their sick little games and want nothing to get in their ways. And it's the same for every other country out there. I would absolutely love to see an international conflict solved by the leaders personally fighting each other. It's their personal problems they have with each other. Ebola was a big issue because the media decided to cause a mass panic with it. Honestly, it was an issue that shouldn't have been one. The disease has been known about for so long that by now, someone should've tried to find a vaccine for it a long time ago. There's been progress in the treatment of people with cancer and HIV/AIDS. Why did nobody look at ebola and think "This is pretty bad. Someone should try and do something about it" 4 years ago +1

But it's made before any testing. Purely by prior knowledge through observation and fact. It's considered a "temporary conclusion" for a reason. They may have facts used to help them form it, but it isn't considered true. Scientists attempt to prove it correct by conducting experiments and they hope to find the evidence needed to support it's truth. They start with their conclusion, test it, and then form a permanent one. 4 years ago +1

No, it's still religion. People use religion as an excuse to kill, They say their "cause" is "just and holy" and they fight "in the name of god." They want to spread the message that they believe by any means they will kill to do it. Ideas and teachings are twisted and corrupted but they still champion behind the Qur'an, or the Bible, or whatever else they might use. The way people like that gain supporters is by using religion. That's how the Pope convinced people to fight in the crusades, that's how many of the current terrorist cells in the middle east initially gained supporters, that's how cults get members, and that's how hate groups are able to gain so many supporters. They use something that people believe they should know based on what they claim is their way of life to form a collective group mentality to gain all of it's supporters. After that they continue to use this until whoever the leader is decides that he wants to use this power to kill, and by then, people are so brainwashed by their leader that they will do what he says, believing it to be the right thing based on the teachings that most of the time, initially objected to what it's being used for. Therefore, religion is much more the reason for wars than oil ever could be. 4 years ago
And people are to blame for wars. What's written in teaching is not followed through by people in real life. And that's not just in religion. 4 years ago

The name is the same but it's not really it. Consider this, in the 1960's the band The Yardbirds formed as a five member group. The original guitarist was replaced by Eric Clapton, then Jeff Beck replaced Eric Clapton, then Jimmy Page replaced bassist Paul Samwell-Smith. After that, Jimmy Page was replaced by rhythm guitarist Chris Dreja as a bassist while Page replaced Beck. Then, vocalist Keith Relf was replaced by Robert Plant and drummer Jim McCarty was replaced by John Bonham. Finally Dreja was replaced by John Paul Jones. Before that band changed it's name, they did tour referring to themselves as The Yardbirds even though it's safe to say, they weren't the same band at all 4 years ago

I do have a very hard time believing these for a number of reasons. Cosby was about to get a new show on NBC. If anything can be seen from the Bryan Singer stuff a few months ago, people will target someone for money right when they're about to do something to get them back into the public eye. Secondly, the amount of people that are making these accusations is ridiculous. If he really did rape that many people, then how he got away with it is beyond me. Also, why would so many people come out and say these things long after the statute of limitations has passed on these? Lastly is more about the timing. Right now, racism is an incredibly hot buttoned issue in America. If someone's looking for a celebrity to get some money out of, an immensely popular and well known black entertainer would be exactly the type of person that people might use, but that's only if you want to get psychological. I'm not saying it's impossible for a few of them to be true, but there are just far too many for even a majority of them to be true. 4 years ago +1

Harry Potter has only been around for 17 years. When he's in over 60 books, is the most portrayed movie character of all time, has his name synonymous with what he's known for, is embodied in far more characters than just himself, and has his name in an expression, then he may be. But as far as I'm concerned, Sherlock Holmes is the single most iconic character ever created. After him would be Robin Hood and some Shakespearean characters. He's even considered the reason forensic science and psychological profiling became so relied upon in real world police work. 4 years ago +3
