-CriticalDrive- says A: (Electronika 60, Alexey Pajitnov 1984) A soviet tile matching puzzle game where you try to line up blocks by moving and rotating them to fit in place. Different shapes of blocks fall in a random order and successfully lining up a group of block will cause that row to disappear. Otherwise the blocks build up and you lose if they build up to high. When a certain number of lines are cleared, the game goes to the next level as the blocks begin falling faster each level. It was the first entertainment software to be exported from the USSR to the US and gained huge success after being ported to the Game Boy in 1989, where it become one of the most popular games of all time. //////// B: (Arcade, Capcom 1987) A competitive fighting game where you battle in a series of matches against computer controlled opponents or in a single match against another player. While the game did not achieve worldwide popularity until its sequel street fighter II, the original still introduced some of the conventions made standard in later fighting games, such as six button controls and command based special techniques.
