There are bad things and people in the world but then there are amazingly good people who are selfless and do plenty for our world.

Do you watch/read the news. There was an ex employee who killed his boss and 3 others, we have the massacre at that movie theatre, A man shot his son to death accidentally, America is pissing of the middle east who seem like they are coming to attack any day. If you follow the news you can notice the increase in violence, murder, and other heinous acts over the years.

we have always had killings and massacres since recorded time, that doesn't mean that all hope is lost.

Those are all the bad things we hear about in the news. Think of all the good things the world has to offer though, that the bad overshadows. Think of all the people who donate to charities, people who love and try to save animals, all the loving families, the progress we've made with science, including medicine and technology, and so many other great things. The problem is with society these days, is that we hear more about a man who kills five to ten people, rather than the compassionate people who give up their time and money to help the people in Haiti and Africa.

The news focuses 90% on the negative and is incredibly pessimistic, I would not consider the media a good way to evaluate the overall state of the world. In reality, the psycho murderers make up an incredibly minute portion of the population and people in 3rd world countries are just as capable of living happy lives as people in developed countries. There is evil in the world true, but overall violence is lower nowadays than it has been in the past.

Shit like that happens everyday, the media is just deciding to televise it more often.

No, there is just an increase of publication of violence, murder and other heinous acts. Horrible things have been around forever. It's people with hope that keep everything going.

If you actual pay attention to the news and do any research at all you would know that the violence towards America in the Middle East over the past few weeks has been by a very small minority there. The majority desires peace and actually raided a base controlled by those responsible for a lot of the violence.. Yes there is more violence because of the Arab Spring but most of that is not aimed towards America, but at their own governments... Also, there is statistically far lower violent crimes committed in America over recent years than before.
