When it comes to deciding if gay marriage is ok, most people say yes because it makes both parties happy and their feelings/love is no ones business. This leads me to ask, is happiness the ultimate determiner of right/wrong? (By Deidara MaleGold MedalGold TrophySuper StarDiamondGold Crown 6 years ago)

Deidara says Note: This question is not about gay marriage, but happiness in general.

No because someone should not be able to hurt/kill someone else just because it makes them happy, as it would hurt someone else severely in the process. However gay marriage does not harm other people around them, so in that case happiness should be the true determiner.

Happiness could never be the ultimate rule for right and wrong. That would just cause way to many problems in many situations logic needs to be used not emotion.

I don't care what someone does as long as it doesn't HURT anyone else. Offending someone or pissing them off a little doesn't matter. If it doesn't screw up someone else's life, do what you want.

No, happiness does not determine right or wrong. But if someone has an issue with someone marrying someone of the same sex, then the person who has the problem has some serious issues that they need to solve.
