Javaman314 says remember, the British have to reload after every volley fired, but the knights are far more deadly up close.

The redcoats can fire volleys from afar and when the knights inevitably get close they can simply form a square formation.

If their French . . . . I don't really think there would be much fighting. The French need to ban fireworks in Paris, their soldiers surrender to tourists.

So? The knights had longbows. Which had a greater range than that of the Brown Bess Musket. Bullets just arrive on target A LOT faster.

Despite common knowledge, the knights carried a variety of weapons into combat with them. Not just their swords and shield. Many also carried bows, lances, maces, and axes. Most bows had a range of about 100 or so yards, about twice that of the British Musket (50 yds.). Assuming that the knights were fully armored, they were not invincible. Musket balls have been proven to penetrate a steel breastplate. The British (like all other armies at the time), used firing by rank. That is, having a line of men shoot all at once, and while they are reloading, another line would fire theirs all at once. Most armies fired in ranks of three, so, by the time the third rank had fired, the first would be ready to shoot again. During the change between ranks, the line was often vulnerable, and if the Knights were determined enough, they could easily overwhelm and annihilate the British.

Guns > Horses Soon the horses would trip over their dead brethren, killing many riders.
