It's somewhat like giving everyone the right to use a mini nuke with a liscence. Makes no fricking sense.

If you don't like guns, that's great. DON'T GET ONE THEN. Why is this such a hard concept to grasp?

That's what it should be like. But then you get people who have armouries that are fitted to take out towns. You also get mentally unstable people who take advantage of having the right to bear arms, and that's when public shootings happen. It doesn't work if just some people refuse guns, everyone has to. If only some people do, then they're pretty much screwed if anything, like someone for guns threatens them.

The only way to stop a bad guy with a gun, is a good guy with a gun. Otherwise, only the bad guys will have guns. And I'd much prefer to defend myself with a handgun rather than a pocket knife and harsh language.

I cannot believe you are actually quoting the head of the NRA, someone who is partly responsible for how screwed up YOUR country is. That's fine if that's what you people think; most Americans seem to think guns are the only thing keeping society together. That's gonna turn out great for you. The point of an anti-gun policy is to get rid of all guns. Not just let the bad guys keep a little one here and there and strip down the rest of the public. If a country is willing they could get rid of all of their firearms, keeping only what's necessary for the army and the law.

Getting rid of all of the communities firearms only opens the doors for TOTALITARIANISM. It happened in Nazi Germany, it happened in Soviet Russia, it happened in China, it's HAPPENING in Europe. With all the peoples arms removed, it also removes any attempt to stop the government from doing something that the people don't approve of! Whereas in America, our basic fundamentals allowed us to keep our guns because they didn't want their government to become the monarchy that they had just gotten out of! They wanted a society in which the people had control OVER the government. Not a society where the government had total control over them. That's why America has been looked at as a land of opportunity for so long, because you could do what YOU wanted, and not what the government had decided you should do.

Wow okay, umm god bless America and no where else, have fun with all your firearms because it's like trying to argue with a stoned hick. Just saying but America has the largest crime rate in the world. Your guns really don't seem to be doing all that well for you.

You realize that the reason america has such a high crime rate is because most if not all of the larger cities are 'gun-free zones'. No one is allowed to have a gun. Not even those pesky criminals who, last I checked, didn't follow the rules. So now the ONLY ones with guns are the criminals. The police are almost no help, because it takes them about 10 minutes to respond to an incident.

And whose fault is that? Sounds like a problem for the law to me, whereas where I'm from, the police do their job properly. And the good thing is, guns are legal, but to get a hold of one, you have a full evaluation with your criminal record and must have a valid excuse for wanting one, and they are EXTREMELY strict and you have to have some full license and pay a ton of money to buy a gun and ammo. And with that we've got one of the lowest crime rates in the world. Guns aren't always necessary.

Funny thing is in my city pocket knives and other knives for self defense are "un-lawful" so all I have is a handgun to defend myself.

I agree and disagree. I agree in the sense that people should not OWN assault weapons. But I disagree because that would be a ban on anything to do with assault weapons I think anybody on the planet should be able to go to a shooting range and shoot whatever they want.
