The chicken had to evolve to become a chicken and pretty much everything evolved from something so... +1
But pokemon isn't a child's game D: It's for all ages! And Pokemon does take skill, you need to remember which abilities are useful in which fights(EX: Mold breaker > Wonder Guard), what type is good against what(It's more than just water >fire> grass >water, even I have trouble with all the types. More than one thing can beat water you know.), strategically spend money to buy potions/revives/health restorations and pokeballs (for that one random shiny you may encounter, don't want to be unprepared), and many other things. Sure it doesn't have too much of a story but it doesn't really need one. It has more of an open world concept (at least in my opinion it's open world) and you aren't in any rush to make it to the end of the game. You can leisurely stroll around and mess around in the fashion show, certain events on certain days, daily tasks, explore and find secrets, make movies and become a star, and so many more things. I guess what I was trying to saw with that was it doesn't need/have a story because you get to make it yourself. You get to choose your ultimate team, plan your path (like how you choose when you want to go battle a gym leader or such), strategically plan, and do so many more things. You have to plan on what you do with that one (and possibly only)masterball and carefully decide which legendary to catch with it. Even after the game there's plenty of stuff to do. There are over 700 pokemon now out there to catch and level to 100. It's a game that you can put down to take a break little, come back to, and remember what you were doing.Pokemon is not a child's game. It is for all ages and does take skill, a bit of luck(For those crit hits), strategy, and intelligence to complete.
